Programs for Support

Activity and Wellness Center

Our Activity Center is a safe place where seniors can stay healthy, active, and independent. It provides a crucial social network for our 1,200 monthly members. The Center offers programs that help members learn to manage and delay the onset of chronic diseases, leading to improvements in their physical, social, and mental well-being. Support our Activity Center and give community members the opportunity to gradually age in their own homes, instead of a nursing facility.

Meals on Wheels of Southwestern Indiana

For so many of our seniors, the joy of a warm meal and human companionship comes from SWIRCA & More. It is our mission to provide local seniors access to hot, nutritious meals and feed those most in need. Whether it is from our 16 home delivered routes or our 20 meal sites located throughout Southern Indiana, SWIRCA personally serves over 800 hot nutritious meals each day to six counties in Southwestern Indiana.

Angel Tree

Every December, the SWIRCA & More Angel Tree is hung with ornaments listing the wishes and needs of 300 Case Management clients served by SWIRCA & More. Unfortunately, many clients don't always have the means to purchase gifts or other much needed necessities during the holidays.

The Angel Tree provides a way for the community to connect with SWIRCA clients by meeting those needs. Wishes range from clothing to toiletries to cleaning supplies to money towards their electric bill.

Food Pantry

SWIRCA's Food Pantry supplies basic essential needs for seniors and those living with disabilities. Items include food, toiletries, cleaning supplies, clothes, etc. These items are always in need and your support is greatly appreciated.

Our list of needed items changes depending on the time of year. Please call SWIRCA & More at 812-464-7800 to find what items may be in need.

Points of Hope Discretionary Fund

This fund provides clients with an opportunity to get the things they desperately need after they have exhausted all other options and resources available to them. Funds can be allocated in support of living expenses such as bill payment, rent, food, purchasing of appliances, in-home services, and much more.

SWIRCA & More's Care Managers work diligently to advocate on behalf of all clients for needed services and assistance and make appropriate referrals. Care Mangers also monitor and follow-up on home and community-based services for clients as directed.
