County Councils on Aging

To help create a stronger support network for older adults in Southwestern Indiana, SWIRCA & More established Councils on Aging in each county within its service area. SWIRCA provides services to Vanderburgh County, while smaller councils assist in Posey, Warrick, Gibson, Perry, and Spencer Counties.

Each council on aging is different and plays a vital role in assessing the growing needs and concerns of older adults that live in their regions and help them locate community resources and support services such as transportation, nutrition, wellness programs, personal care services, and more.
