SWIRCA's Activity Center provides daily, evidence-based exercise classes that help to improve muscle strength, balance, and functional mobility. Many of our classes are low-impact and specifically tailored to meet the wellness goals of individuals 50+.

Available Exercise Classes

Arthritis Exercise
Developed by the Arthritis Foundation and provided by trained instructors, this class covers a variety of range-of-motion and endurance-building activities, relaxation techniques, and health education topics. The program’s demonstrated benefits include improved functional ability, decreased depression and increased confidence in one’s ability to exercise. 

Balance with Brenda

Chair Yoga

gentle, low-impact yoga exercises performed while seated or using a chair for support. It is designed to improve flexibility, balance, and strength without falling.

Drums Alive
Offered by trained instructors, this exercise class offers a “Whole Brain & Whole Body” workout which promotes physical, social, emotional, and cognitive health at all life stages. 

Exercise with Eva
A low impact, full-body exercise that combines yoga and Pilates inspired movements with light strengthening and deep stretching to improve flexibility, posture, and muscle tone.

Line Dancin

Choreographed, non-partner dance where individuals in rows repeat step sequences to music. Fun, low-impact movement that improves balance, coordination, cardiovascular health, and congnitive function.

Stretch and Tone
A low impact, full-body exercise that combines yoga and Pilates inspired movements with light strengthening and deep stretching to improve flexibility, posture, and muscle tone.

Tai Chi

Low-impact, "meditation in motion" practice originating from ancient Chinese martial arts that combines slow, deliberate movements, deep breathing, and mental focus to enhance physical and mental well-being.

Tone Up


Yoga

Low-impact yoga movement and poses. Great for improving muscle strength and flexibility, supporting pain management due to arthritis and chronic aches, and managing stress/reducing anxiety.
