Did you know that only 1 percent of philanthropic donations in the United States go to support senior issues and causes...

But by 2030, older adults 65+ will be the largest age demographic in the country, surpassing children 18 years and younger for the first time in U.S. history. The lack of funding for senior issues must change because concerns faced by our older adult population effects all of us from available community resources, local economies, healthcare costs, societal growth, and quality of life standards.

Help Us Build a Stronger, Age-Friendly Community

As an Area Agency on Aging, SWIRCA has proudly served individuals and families in need for more than 50 years. It is our mission to provide community resources and support services to older adults, those living with disabilities and their caregivers to help them maintain their independence and dignity while still living at home. But we can’t do this important work alone and need community support to sustain the vital programs and support services we provide to individuals in our area.

When you invest in SWIRCA, you invest in yourself and your community!

Help Reduce Senior Hunger and Isolation

Help Reduce Senior Hunger and Isolation

No one should have to go hungry. But for some older adults, getting a hot, nutritious meal is not easy and obstacles like limited transportation, health problems or mobility issues make finding a meal much more difficult.

We know that good nutrition is the cornerstone of a healthy life. Yet, hunger and malnutrition among seniors in America and here at home are a growing crisis.

Your gift of $35 will provide one week of nutritious meals for a local senior through one of our neighborhood lunch sites or meal delivery routes.

Prior to joining SWIRCA's Activity and Wellness Center, five years ago, Sandy was experiencing severe joint discomfort and back pain. She regularly saw a doctor to help with the pain, but nothing she seemed to do was working. On a recommedation from a friend, Sandy decided to join the Activity Center and began taking exercise classes such as chair yoga and stretch and tone. Now Sandy’s pain is manageable, she is off her medications, and is moving better than she has in years.

Your gift of $30 will provide one annual membership to SWIRCA’s Activity and Wellness Center for a local senior. $100 will help us hire and train additional instructors and provide education and recreational opportunities for adults 50+.
